Hi, guys! My name is Steven Marks, and I’m the founder of Guzman Y Gomez, based in Sydney. We’re an Australian company with 117 restaurants here in Australia, Japan and Singapore. This year we will build another 30 restaurants. We’re here to reinvent fast food and showcase the best Mexican food you’ve ever had.
If I had to describe DCB, especially Christian and Dan, man these guys are hardworking, super reliable and most importantly they are honest and I know they always have your back.
One thing that stands out to me about DCB is in the way they communicate. And it’s funny, we’ve worked with a lot of construction companies but nobody does it better than them. They understand how my restaurants work, understand the flow of my kitchens and the detail that is needed to produce an incredible restaurant. They deliver on time and on budget and they make me a very happy client.
A major role DCB plays here is when we’re looking for real estate. We have an incredible real estate team but it’s very important to get your construction team on site ASAP to make sure we have the capabilities there to produce an amazing restaurant. What makes them very special is that they are with us from stage one all the way through to the final process. So they know if this can be turned into a restaurant and they work with our project managers all the way through documentation, and we let them run from documentation to execution of construction cause that’s what they do best. These guys offer us and deliver us an exceptional product, which is why they’ve built a lot of restaurants for us.
One of the things I value most about DCB is they’re now actually good friends of mine as well. I’ve been doing business with them for 8 years and I trust them with everything they do to deliver – if it’s a company, restaurant or a franchise, these guys never disappoint me. And as you build the business and have dreams to make it bigger and bigger, you need partners you can trust. That’s one thing about DCB, I trust these guys with everything.
If I was to give any advice to someone who could be a potential client or any construction company, check their references. See who they built restaurants for, or see the best restaurants in Australia – find out who’s building their restaurants. I bet it’s DCB. For us going forward, they are definitely our preferred choice of builders in the future.
And final words to DCB, they are exceptional people but if you have to have to drink with them late night, forget about it! Cause they go home early cause they need to wake up so ready to build! Love ya!
