My name is Michael Croker; I am a Tenancy Coordination Manager for Mirvac; we’ve got three shopping centres in Queensland.
What’s it like to work with DCB Developments?
Working with DCB Developments is a great experience. It’s always challenges that we throw at them, but nothing is too big or too small to actually resolve for us. In the odd time that there is a challenge that is literally too big for anyone to achieve, there’s always an alternative and different solution. We work together to get to the end goal which is comforting.
How does it make you feel being a client of DCB?
I actually feel very valued to be a client at DCB. I feel lucky enough that they jump when I ask them to jump – it’s a really lovely feeling to be able to have someone you can trust and who will work with us as opposed to for us.
What is it about their process that stands out from other companies?
The process that stands out from other companies we’ve worked with is the honesty and the upfront work. We spend a lot of time together very early on in the project, as well as going through some of the details that are going to cause pressures through the project. So definitely that upfront work and the openness that we share together as client and builder is great.
Was there a feature of benefit of DCB that made you choose them?
Definitely one of the main features that we keep using DCB for is the wide variety of experience that they’ve got. Dan with his building experience, Christian with his restaurant experience and you know, Ben and Phil with their shopfitting experience. It covers everything that we need. They look at the bigger picture and can do everything from the inside to the outside, as well as the details.
Could you describe the basic brief you gave DCB and how they met it?
The basic brief – this is when they do shine, and I’ve done a number of different projects with them from building/rebuilding tendencies to shop fit out, to the most recently completed extended dining area we had. And a lot of the time, the brief can be a sketch on a piece of paper and a face to face conversation. They then take away and offer a developer brief back to us. Then we will work towards to get to that end – the project – which is great.
