Humberto from GYG

My name is Humberto Maradiegue. I am the Head of Development for Guzman Y Gomez Mexican Taqueria Queensland.
How did you meet DCB Developments?
I met Christian Bright from DCB Developments around 8 years ago and we’ve been working together ever since.
What has surprised you or made you the happiest about working with DCB?
I’ve been over 25 years in this industry, so I’ve come across a lot of shopfitters and builders. One of the things that has, I guess initially, surprised me was their ability to go above and beyond what was expected and to be surprised. So I think that’s a fantastic thing to be surprised! For example, there was a job last year that the timeframe for it to be completed…honestly, I didn’t believe it was possible. And the guys surprised me! They rolled up their sleeves, Christian, Dan and Ben. They rolled up their sleeves and literally got stuck into it. It’s an amazing job that they did to get it over the line in the timeframe that they had.
What advice would you give a potential DCB customer?
The advice I would give a potential client for DCB would be ask questions and don’t be afraid to challenge them because they are very receptive to new ideas; they challenge themselves all the time and I think that they’re not afraid of that. So they always are willing to grow and learn new things, which I think is important.
How does it make you feel being a client of DCB?
I would say I guess all partners in DCB bring different sets of skills and different experiences to the company which I think is reassuring, because you’re dealing with partners that have a lot of experience in the shopfitting industry, and they work very well together. You can tell once you get to know them and you meet them, that there’s no egos, you know? Everyone is really working well together and has got each other’s back which I think is good to know.
If DCB were an item on the menu, what would they be?
I think they would be one of our most popular items which I think is spicy chicken burrito, which is a bit of everything, all rolled into one.
