Sitting down with Dan Cox, Director and Christian Bright, General Manager for DCB Developments.
- What is your advice to any company, in the construction industry, trying to manage the pandemic? Be mindful of the changing dynamics of the industry, supplier and contractor shortages and do what you can to mitigate the impact of these. Be aggressive in your approach to securing the work, be supportive of your clients needs, give them the reassurance that you have their back and bring things even tighter by strengthening the relationship. We worked super hard to support the people who have support DCB for a long time.
- What have you found are the benefits for your clients using the same company to do both build and fitout? Consistency in delivery, shorter program for duration of the project which means the tenant moves in sooner and gets to trade earlier and the landlord reduces holding costs and has income coming in earlier! It is a win/win for both of them
- You seem to build such long standing relationships with your clients – doing multiple builds and fitouts for each client – what is your secret? Because of our Communication, transparency in what we do, respect for our client and their investment, understanding delivery, detail & deadlines. There are always someone that will be cheaper…. Stand by what you are and your delivery as they will always come back.
- If you could mention one charity that you believe in and want to shout out to – who would it be and why? Bro Camp & Aella. Youth camps for 11-17 year old boys and girls. Our youth are our future and to be able to give to something that provides them with an opportunity for growth mentally & physically surrounded by influential people means a lot to us.
- Just for travels sake – if you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would it be? New Zealand, miss that place, family and love it is so close
