What We Do

Established in 2008, we are a third generation building company based in south east Queensland, servicing our growing family of clients both nationally and overseas.

Our major services include shopfitting, design and construction, food and beverage consultations and interior design, covering all aspects of the construction industry in retail and commercial.

Commercial Development & Construction

We understand that making the decision to build is not something to be taken lightly. You have to have trust and confidence in the builder you choose, which is why we provide you with a personal written guarantee for our work and also plenty of testimonials from past clients for your peace of mind.

The DCB team personally oversee the entire building processes, which means timelines and schedules are met and that all workmanship is completed to our high standards. All our tradespeople are all fully licensed, and personally chosen because they are good people who provide the service, quality and old fashioned work ethics that we demand.

Design & Construct

We provide an ‘end to end’ service that will ensure you are guided and supported every step of the way throughout the entire building process. From conception to completion. Full turnkey operation.

Food & Beverage Fitout/Consulting

We have extensive knowledge in this area. Our team realises the importance to have specialist people that understand your requirements not only from a build perspective but also from a functional point of view. We take the time to understand your processes and systems to ensure it is right operationally. Your project becomes ours.

Project Management

Our team is skilled in so many areas of construction with a very broad skill set. It is because of this diversity that we are able to provide quality Project Managers that will suit your construction requirements. This service is also offered as ‘Client Based’ Project Management, which means that you can engage DCB to be your representative throughout the entire process for Leasing, Design Consultation, to construction and Operation of your business at Handover.

Our Process

IDEAS & SCOPE

This part is really exciting! We can help you explore concepts;

Create the brand – business name, logo design etc;

Create a business plan;

Investigate feasibility of the project;

Find a location or assess
chosen location for suitability

DESIGN & DUE DILIGENCE

This is where we dot the i’s and cross the t’s; due diligence across all areas;

Refine concept, plan the flow of the space & finalise drawings;

Prepare / submit tendar applications and construction costings;

Coordinate with planners, architects & consultants around Development Application (DA);

Investigate service connections to the development.

CONSULTATION

As part of the consultation phase, we can manage architects, consultants, engineers, trades and all other involved parties;

Notify Council and manage all required inspections;

Manage all questions and queries from contractors throughout tender period;

Connect client to useful partners from within the extended network.

CONSTRUCTION
& SHOPFITTING

Construction begins and we move into the Project Management role;

We manage all queries from the builder;

Make selections for PC’s and finishes;

Monitor time, cost and quality and report monthly against original program
and budget;

Manage consultants, engineers, designers, trades, certifier, construction reporting and facilitate all meetings.

COMPLIANCE
& CERTIFICATION

We manage all required certificates & liaise with PCA to obtain Occupation
Certificate (OC);

Coordinate services authority requirements, clearance certificates, sub-consultants & builder to obtain Final Component certificates;

Liaise with builder, Council and Service authorities re service installations;

Manage practical completion and defects processes.
