The Food Collective project was an innovative and exciting project, bringing a “cohesive multiple store, street food offer” to the usually conservative airport food court environment. DCB provided full PM services for this project, including due diligence on services, Quantity Surveying services, design management, value engineering, tendering and construction management to keep the project on time and on budget. DCB also managed the complex approval process for the project, managing each step of the design to gain approval from the multiple stakeholders and building approval authorities. This project also included an extremely tight construction time frame, with 6 stores built from scratch in 5 weeks.
Meticulous planning and a strong on-site management team ensured all 6 stores were completed at handover, ready to trade. This involved 24 hr rolling shifts and carefully co-ordinated trade sequencing throughout the project. The construction of 6 stores in 5 weeks, in the challenging airport environment was an incredible achievement, not achieved previously in this space.
